Frog garden

GPS coordinates: 59°54’29.5″N 29°46’18″E (59.908196, 29.771666)

Address: Lomonosov, Krasnoarmeyskaya str. 3-5 (Ломоносов, Красноармейская ул. между домами 3 и 5)

Long time ago here was a dacha (in soviet period summerhouse served as a communal apartment). It collapsed in 1960s, since then nobody looked after this piece of land and it began to grow wild, until in 2008 local administration decided to turn it to a little garden as a gift to citizens for 300-anniversary of Lomonosov.

N.A. Karlykhanov created several frogs and toads to decorate the garden. Sculptures are supposed to be anti-vandal; at least they are very heavy (every frog weighs more than a ton). As usually superstitious people came up with a rite and declared that if you pet a frog, you’ll get rich. Also there are peculiar benches supported by boulders.
